Cleaning Terms and Conditions

Regular Cleaning

  • HP City Clean Ltd will perform the work specified by the Client in a professional manner.

  • A minimum service time of 3 hours is required, and an estimate will be provided before work commences.

  • The ability to complete the quoted tasks may vary based on the property's condition and activity level. If additional cleaning time is needed or any unforeseen factors arise, the Client will be informed by email or phone for approval.

  • Additional services, such as ironing, interior window cleaning, and oven or fridge cleaning, can be requested in advance for an additional fee. These services can also be done during holiday periods without extra charges.

  • Cancellations are not accepted. Additional services like interior window cleaning and oven cleaning cannot be included in regular sessions.

Our Staff

  • Our staff are diligent and hardworking. We expect clients to treat them respectfully. Rude behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Staff are prohibited from accepting freelance work. Any attempts should be reported to the Director of HP City Clean Ltd, as this is against company policy.

  • If the Client directly or indirectly retains the services of any HP City Clean Ltd employee or contractor (or ex-employee within three months of their departure), the Client agrees to pay £1,500 per employee as liquidated damages.

Cleaner Absence Due to Sickness or Holidays

  • In the event of a cleaner’s absence due to sickness or holidays, HP City Clean Ltd will make every effort to provide an alternative cleaner, though this cannot be guaranteed. The replacement cleaner may not be available on the usual day, but arrangements will be made for a mutually convenient time.

Cleaning Equipment

  • The Client is responsible for providing water, electricity, cleaning products, and equipment. All electrical equipment, such as vacuums, irons, and mops, must be in good working order.

  • We use the cleaning products provided by you to ensure your preferences are prioritized.

Working Environment

  • HP City Clean Ltd may refuse to carry out any work deemed hazardous, excessively unpleasant, or beyond its technical ability, especially if it poses a risk of loss, damage, or injury.

  • Fragile and breakable items should be secured or removed. A safe working environment must be provided, and no person under 18 should be left alone on the property without a parent or guardian present.

Services Offered

  • The Contractor offers a full range of domestic and small office cleaning services. The term "cleaning" does not include the removal of oil, paint, varnishes, or other such substances, nor does it include carpet cleaning (other than vacuuming) or rubbish disposal.

Bank Holidays

  • HP City CLean Ltd does not operate on Bank Holidays. Clients whose regular cleaning day falls on a Bank Holiday should contact us as soon as possible to request an alternative date. While we will make every effort to accommodate such requests, alternative arrangements cannot be guaranteed.

Christmas Period

  • HP City Clean Ltd will not operate between 25th December and 1st January inclusive. Regular service will resume on 2nd January or the next working day. Clients requiring services during this period should contact us as soon as possible. We will try to meet these requests but cannot guarantee availability due to limited staffing.

Agreement and Terms Acceptance

  • Work will commence once these terms and conditions have been agreed upon. If work begins before these terms are formally accepted, the client is deemed to have accepted these terms as “implied” and legally binding.

Payment

  • All work performed by HP City Clean Ltd will be invoiced based on the number of services provided. A fixed monthly amount will be provided before the commencement of work.

  • Invoices are sent on the 1st of each month and are payable by bank transfer or cash. Cheques are not accepted.

  • Payment is due within seven days of the invoice date. A 5% interest charge per week will be added to overdue payments.

Accidental Damage

  • In the event of minor accidental damage caused by a cleaner, an insurance claim may be considered. If the claim is approved, the Client is responsible for the first £250 of each claim.

  • Any damage under £250 should be covered by the Client’s own Household Insurance Policy.

  • No claims for bleach damage will be accepted.

  • The Client should have adequate insurance coverage against liabilities to the cleaner and must provide a copy of the insurance policy upon request.

  • If the Client is dissatisfied with the services provided, they must inform the Contractor within 24 hours. Failure to do so absolves the Contractor of the obligation to rectify or replace services, subject to damage attributable to the Contractor’s actions.

  • HP City CLean Ltd is not responsible for any items not pre-reported as expensive or of sentimental value.

Termination Terms

  • The Client may terminate the cleaning service by providing 14 days' notice in writing or via email, specifying the last cleaning day. Failure to provide notice may result in a £150 cancellation fee.

Final Agreement

  • This Agreement represents the final understanding between the parties regarding the subject matter and supersedes all prior agreements. Any amendments must be in writing and signed by both the Contractor and the Client.
